Capo Carbonara

The Marine Protected Area (MPA) of Capo Carbonara is part of the 27 marine protected areas set up to date in Italy, as well as 2 underwater parks, which protect approximately 228 thousand hectares of sea and about 700 kilometers of coastline.

The area is divided into 3 types of zones with varying degrees of protection and in a 4a, called Zone D, where the activities relating to maritime traffic are regulated but are of little interest for sea-going navigation as it comprises a section of Sea far from the coast.

L’Area Marina Protetta (AMP) di Capo Carbonara fa parte delle 27 aree marine protette istituite finora in Italia, oltre a 2 parchi sommersi, che tutelano circa 228 mila ettari di mare e circa 700 chilometri di costa.

L’area è suddivisa in 3 tipi di zone con diversi gradi di protezione e in una quarta, chiamata Zona D, in cui le attività legate al traffico marittimo sono regolamentate, ma risultano di scarso interesse per la navigazione in mare aperto poiché comprende un tratto di mare lontano dalla costa.
